THE FRENCH VERSION FOLLOWS

During my teenage years and my young adult life, shaving was a real torture for me. Super sensitive skin, cuts, repetitive ingrown hairs – all this was my daily plight until the beginning of 2010. While in London, a product caught my attention. A pre-shave oil from Truefitt & Hill (the legendary barbershop whose patrons included Wellington, Churchill, Montgomery and other great figures in British history).

What could it possibly bring to a daily shaving routine? Despite the jokes of my entourage, who claimed that I was acting like a “diva”, I told myself that I had nothing to lose. I had tried so many products – with no positive result. So, I told myself: “one more try can’t hurt.” My expectations were not that high.

I was wrong. Just a few days after I started using it, I noticed a radical change. My skin was much better, shaving was much more comfortable and pleasant. I was done with rashes, ingrown hairs, the torture associated with the razor. I have wholeheartedly adopted the product, which is now part of my lifestyle and skincare routine. Shaving has become a real daily pleasure.

Durant mon adolescence et ma jeune vie adulte, le rasage était pour moi un véritable exercice de torture. Peau archi sensible, coupures, poils incarnés à répétition – tout cela fut mon lot quotidien jusqu’au début des années 2010. De passage à Londres, un produit a attiré mon attention. Une huile prérasage de la maison Truefitt & Hill (le légendaire salon de barbier dont la liste des clients passé comprend les Wellington, Churchill, Montgomery et autres grands noms de l’histoire britannique).

Qu’est-ce que cela pouvait bien apporter à l’exercice quotidien du rasage. Malgré les plaisanteries de mon entourage, qui prétendait que je jouais « la précieuse », je me suis dit que je n’avais rien à perdre. J’avais essayé tellement de produits. Toujours sans résultat positif. Je me suis donc dit « un de plus, ça ne changera pas grand-chose. »

J’avais tort. Quelques jours seulement après que j’eus commencé à l’utiliser, j’ai constaté un changement radical. Ma peau se portait beaucoup mieux, le rasage était beaucoup plus confortable et agréable. C’en était fini des rougeurs, des poils incarnés, du supplice du rasoir quoi. J’ai donc adopté le produit, qui fait maintenant partie de mon mode de vie.

On peut donc dire que Truefitt & Hill a sauvé ma peau…
